The Liver Assist is a system for ex-vivo oxygenated machine perfusion of donor livers under hypothermic and normothermic conditions prior to transplantation. The device also offers users the ability to perform Controlled Oxygenated Rewarming (COR) protocol, starting with hypothermic perfusion followed by rewarming and viability assessment using normothermic machine perfusion. The Liver Assist is intended to support improved transplantation outcomes for standard criteria donor livers and to assess the viability of extended criteria and otherwise marginal donor livers that would be eligible for discard.
